Stress, colds and flu, UV rays, emotional upset and lots more other things can trigger a cold sore. The key is to get to them fast to stop them arriving. How to apply it: Apply Zovirax Cream 5 times daily, during normal waking hours for 5 days. Administration should commence as early as possible in the course of the outbreak. Side effects: Burning, itching, mild pain, skin rash, stinging. Transient mild stinging immediately following application of Zovirax may occur in a small proportion of patients. Local irritation and inflammation. Precautions: Avoid contact with eyes This cream is not suitable for application to mucous membranes such as inside the mouth, eye or vagina as it may be irritant.
