It is used to treat secondary amenorrhea, dysfunctional uterine bleeding (unusual or heavy bleeding of the uterus), endometrial cancer and renal cell cancer.It is used to oppose endrometrial effects on post menopausal oestregen treatment. Side effects: Some side effects include breast tenderness, skin sensitivity reactions, generalized rash, acne, alopecia, hirsutism, heart problems, breakthrough bleeding, spotting, change in menstrual, flow, change in weight (increase or decrease), changes in cervical erosion and cervical secretions, cholestatic jaundice, anaphylactoid reactions and anaphylaxis rash (allergic) with and without pruritus, mental depression, pyrexia, insomnia, nausea, somnolence. Precautions: Two-drug combination hormone replacement therapy (estrogen and progestin menopause HRT) can infrequently cause cancer of the breast, heart disease (e.g., heart attack), stroke, or blood clots in the lung (pulmonary embolism) or leg.
