Details Product Name: Generic Aldara Cream Drug Name: Imiquimod Cream 5% Packaging Type: Boxes of 3 Sachets Use: External genital and perianal warts are cause by a virus called Human Papilloma Virus. These wart-like growths are oftentimes referred to as condyloma acuminata. While Generic Aldara itself has not been demonstrated to have any of its own antiviral activity, Generic Aldara cream is an immune response modifier that stimulates the body's own immune response system and helps the body fight this virus. How to take it: Wash hands and open a new packet of Generic Aldara cream just before bedtime. Apply a thin layer of Generic Aldara cream on the wart(s). Rub the Generic Aldara cream in until it vanishes. Discard the open packet of Generic Aldara and wash hands. Leave the Generic Aldara cream on the wart(s) for 6 to 10 hours. After 6 to 10 hours, wash the area where Generic Aldara cream was applied with mild soap and water. Typically, dosing is once a day, 3 days a week; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, or Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Side effects: redness, wearing away of the skin, flakiness, swelling, hardening under the skin, small open sores, crust that forms during healing, small bubbles under the skin, itching, burning, pain, tenderness, irritation, rash, soreness, stinging, sensitivity, skin colour becomes lighter on the warts or on the skin around the warts. Most of these skin reactions are mild to moderate. These may be signs that the product is working. If your skin reacts badly or the skin reaction becomes too uncomfortable when using Generic Aldara cream, wash the cream off with mild soap and water and contact your doctor. Also flu symptoms, tiredness, headache, diarrhoea and muscle pain. Precautions: Apply Generic Aldara cream at bedtime, after bathing, so you do not wash off the cream. Treatment with generic Aldara cream should continue until the warts are completely gone, or up to 16 weeks. Because Generic Aldara cream doesn't cure Human Papilloma Virus, the cause of genital and perianal warts, new warts may form during treatment.
