Use: Used for treatment for pain and inflammation from arthritis, or strained joints. Celebrex is a once-daily prescription medication that provides powerful, 24-hour relief from osteoarthritis (OA). Celebrex is also approved for the treatment of adult rheumatoid arthritis (RA), acute pain, and primary dysmenorrhea (painful menstrual cramps).
How to take it: Celebrex can be taken with or without food. The recommended dose for OA is 200 mg a day, which may be taken as a single 200-mg dose or as a 100-mg dose twice a day. The recommended dose for RA is 100 mg to 200 mg, twice a day. If you are taking Celebrex for other reasons, your doctor will tell you the correct dosage to take.
Side effects: Side effects can include Headache, Indigestion, Upper respiratory, Tract infection, Diarrhoea, Sinus inflammation, Stomach pain, Nausea.
Precautions: You should continue to take Celebrex as prescribed even when you are feeling better. Celebrex can cause fluid retention and swelling in some patients. Check with your health care provider to see if Celebrex is right for you, if you retain fluids, have high blood pressure or have heart failure.
